This season I have made it a goal of mine to visit the surrounding pumpkin patches to find the perfect one for our family. After exploring a few around my neighborhood and town I found one that is not only toddler approved but budget friendly, BJ Pumpkin farm.
BJ Pumpkin farm seems small if you’re just passing by. It’s about 5 acres with some of it being a corn field. However I love the small family feel to it. You can really tell it’s a family affair. Once you get passed the few rows of pumpkins you can see all it has to offer. They have a variety of pumpkins out for picking– priced from the one dollar to 20 dollar price range. They also offer pie and seed pumpkins. They have mums and different squash for sale as well.
One of the main attractions at BJ Farm is the corn maze and hay ride. With James being so little we have not gotten to experience their corn maze yet. However James loves a good hay ride! Right next to the entrance to the corn maze are a few lawn games to enjoy, like corn hole or horse shoes. All of which are free!
What James loves the most about the farm is the huge play area. This is a special part of the farm that does cost (only a dollar 25). It’s so worth every penny. James could spend all afternoon playing if I let him. The play area has a huge pirate ship jungle gym, complete with two slides and a swing set. They have an adorable play shed with a play kitchen. Also in the area are tunnels and sand boxes (leave it to my child to want to play in the sand in October). James also loved playing in a hay tent. That’s right just a tent full of hay–who needs those expensive toys!
While James played mom got to enjoy coffee a fresh donut and warm buttery popcorn! They also offer apple cider and apple cider slushees. With it being so close to home and wallet friendly BJ Farm quickly has become our new favorite hangout spot.
BJ Farm is open 10am to 7 pm Sunday through Thursday. 10 am to 8pm Friday and Saturday.
Admission is $5 for adults and children under 2 are free!
